THIS SUNDAY !

Hi to all, we have been very busy here getting everything ready for our volunteer day this Sunday 9th October! 

TURN RIGHT NOT LEFT

There is one little change and that is that we will be using a HALF of the Jungle Restaurant as the Bhaja Hall got a booking. We are so very grateful to the management of Bhaja Hall who allow us to hold our volunteer day each month rent free! They treat us so well that when they called and said they had a paid booking I was so impressed that rather than just asking us to change our date they politely asked if we could relocate to the restaurant and they will create a similar set up for us.  

Well, you know what, I thought of those ladies in Africa that sit under the tree or on the dirt ground in huts sewing liners and shields and I figured we can bear the "inconvenience" of a little relocation! So instead of turning left, turn right into the Jungle ;-) 

BRING A FRIEND AND A TREAT

On another note we are encouraging everyone to bring a new friend this week. We have LOTS of no sewing tasks available on Sunday so please see if you can bring along someone new. If by chance they are a sewer than ask them to bring their machine and a spare bobbin. 

 

Finally October 11th is International Day of the Girl.

We will be celebrating by having our volunteer day on the 9th and we asking if you feel inclined please bring a long a small treat to share with our fellow volunteers. 

In honour of the INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL do you think you could reach out to family, colleagues  and friends and ask for a small donation to our Chapter (via credit card from any country!) to raise funds for materials and at the same time it will help Days for Girls International (who get a credit for each dollar we raise) to win first place in the Revlon Love in On challenge and win 1 million dollars (now that is a lot of kits and a lot of happy girls!).
