Volunteer Day this Sunday

Hello to all,

We had a very successful Dress Sale and raised 812 Omani Rials which is around $2100 USD!

A huge thank you to Julie and Jessica and their team for organising such a worthwhile and well run event.

This Sunday is our volunteer day. I hope we will see you there. If not may I wish you all a lovely summer break and I look forward to seeing you again in September.

Happy Mothers Day - 1st Goal Achieved!

We had a lovely morning this morning gathering together for our 2nd Volunteer Meet Up.

It was lovely to be surrounded this Mothers Day by mothers and daughters making kits with love and care for other mothers and daughters they don't even know and will never meet , but they hope that their work makes life better for those special ladies / girls.

Today we had a HUGE VICTORY! We have now received enough donations to purchase the much needed Die Cutter plus the shipping. How amazing is that? In less than one month we made a goal, talked to as many people as we knew, spread the word ,and received the donations.

THANK YOU to all the kind souls who donated towards the cutter. And a very big thank you to the amazing people of Muscat who have donated soap, fabric, underwear, and washcloths. We should have a progress tally to post soon.

Last but not least, thank you to the funny and amazing group of volunteers who turned up today. You ladies rock (and make laugh so much).

The next meet up is "scheduled" for Sunday 5th June (just awaiting venue confirmation on the date). This should be the day before the holy month of Ramadan commences and the schools will finish shortly after for the summer break (whew did anyone notice it was already 45 degrees today?).

We will make a difference.
Every Girl. Everywhere. Period.

Days for Girls - Full Story

This is a wonderful summary of what Days for Girls is all about. Spoken well and it gives a good background to how Days for Girls started but she also goes on to explain what the girls are using, and how dropping out of school impacts on their future. Can you possibly imagine having to be sexually exploited to get a disposable pad from a male teacher / custodian just so you can go to class, attend an exam etc. Days for Girls is not just giving a kit, it is giving them an education, allowing dignity, hope, knowledge and purpose. Support Days for Girls Muscat Oman, there are so many ways to help us to help them.

Supporting the Charity Dress Sale

We are excited that The Charity Dress sale is donating 20% of their sales to Days for Girls for us to purchase supplies! PLEASE support this cause.

You can donate dresses, decorative abayas, Arabic style dress, handbags, shoes and name the price you would like to receive.

The ladies from the dress sale will do all the work for you.

You will get 80% of the cost and 20% goes to Days for Girls Muscat.

Or you can donate the items and ALL the proceeds if sold will go to Days for Girls!!! (If the items don't sell you can nominate for them to be either returned to you or donated to charity).

PLEASE can you share this will as many as you know in Muscat. Also it is a great way to pick up some lovely bargain on the 24th.
